On May 26, Bethpage High School welcomed nine new members into its chapter of the International Thespian Society (ITS).
The ceremony opened with a warm welcome from Mr. Brent Chiarello, Director of Fine and Performing Arts, who spoke about the importance of the arts in education and applauded the students for their hard work and creativity. Mr. Zach Levy, ITS faculty advisor, followed with heartfelt remarks about the students' commitment to the school's theatre program, both onstage and behind the scenes.
The event continued with reflections from Ben Maciel-Seidman (chapter president) and Amanda Schneider (chapter vice president), who discussed the International Thespian Society's history and mission. Their remarks were followed by a candle-lighting ceremony, during which each officer lit a candle symbolizing one of the core ITS values.
Interspersed throughout the ceremony were live performances by Allyson Yalbuzdag, Stacy Martinez, Charlie Majewski and Amanda Schneider.
The highlight of the ceremony was the formal induction of the chapter's new members. Each student was called to the stage, presented with a certificate, and invited to take the official ITS pledge, committing to uphold the society's ideals and continue their growth as theater artists. The newly inducted members are Leanne Alejandrino, Anthony Cataldi, Lily Ciccotto, Micah Lambert, Charlie Majewski, Brennan Muller, Aiden McShane-Russell, Rylie Petruskie and Caitlynn Rivas.
Congratulations to the new members of ITS Chapter 665!
