Congratulations to JFK eighth grader Julie Cho, who is the recipient of a Music Merit Scholarship for Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts.
Founded in 1968, Usdan offers a curriculum rich in arts programs, including music, visual art, dance, creative writing and theater. Notable alumni include Natalie Portman, Kate McKinnon and Mariah Carey.
The Music Merit Scholarship is an audition-based program that recognizes exceptional instrumentalists, vocalists and composers across Long Island and New York City. It is among the most competitive honors a young musician in the area can receive.
