On Sept. 30, Bethpage hosted its first Parent Wellness Night at Bethpage High School, bringing families together to learn about the many wellness resources and support systems available to students.
The evening featured two concurrent opportunities for parents and caregivers. In the Little Theater, families participated in a Parent Wellness Academy session led by representatives from the 8th Precinct POP Unit and Northwell Health’s Mental Health team. Presenters addressed a range of safety and wellness topics, with a particular focus on online safety, digital security, and student well-being. Parents left with practical strategies and valuable information to help their children navigate today’s digital world.
At the same time, the gymnasium was transformed into a wellness resource fair, where numerous district and community organizations shared information about their programs and initiatives. Families had the opportunity to connect with representatives from groups including Energy Bus, Sources of Strength, SADD, the Kindness Club, and the Bethpage Public Library, among others.
To allow parents and caregivers to fully engage with the evening’s presentations and resources, district physical education teachers organized games and activities for younger students in the Athletic Barn.
The inaugural Parent Wellness Night was a tremendous success, highlighting Bethpage’s commitment to supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of its students and families. Special thanks to Dr. Ricci for organizing this meaningful event, and to all who helped make the evening possible.
