The Bethpage Educational Foundation celebrated excellence, leadership and community pride during its annual Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony on Oct. 2 in the Bethpage High School gymnasium. Six accomplished former Golden Eagles and one standout athletic team were recognized for their achievements and officially inducted into the Hall of Fame.
This year’s Hall of Fame class included Stacy Aronowitz (Class of 1992), Jaydeep Bhatt (Class of 1994), Michael Florio (Class of 1997), Patrick McCaffery (Class of 1985), MaryAnn McGrath, a former PTA president, Gregory Patsos (Class of 1984), and the 2001-2002 Bethpage High School Boys Basketball Team. Each honoree received a Golden Eagle statuette and shared reflections on their time in the Bethpage School District, highlighting the experiences and relationships that helped shape their success.
The evening began with welcoming remarks from Superintendent Dave Schneider, followed by a stirring rendition of the national anthem by Bethpage High School senior Amanda Schneider. The ceremony was hosted by former superintendent Terrence Clark, who now serves as head of the Bethpage Educational Foundation.
Several local and regional elected officials attended to congratulate the inductees, including Nassau County Legislator Rose Walker and Congressman Tom Suozzi. The officials presented citations to each honoree, while Suozzi also recognized Michael Florio with a special distinction that included a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol. Florio previously served as Suozzi’s chief of staff.
In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of distinguished alumni and community members, the event served as a fundraiser for the Bethpage Educational Foundation. Guests enjoyed dinner served by members of the Bethpage High School National Honor Society and participated in raffles, with proceeds supporting the foundation’s efforts to enhance educational opportunities and programs throughout the district.
The annual Hall of Fame ceremony continues to highlight the lasting impact of Bethpage graduates, volunteers and supporters while inspiring current students to pursue their own paths of achievement and service.
