JFK Spelling Bee

In participation with the 2023 Scripps National Spelling Bee,  twenty-seven JFK students participated in a schoolwide spelling bee on Friday, January 6th, afterschool in the JFK auditorium. These students were the champions of their classroom spelling bee held in their English classes in December. Their friends and families were invited to show their support of these awesome spellers. Finishing in third place was 8th grader Anthony Miranda. In second place was 7th grader Karanpreet Singh and the winner was 8th grader Zachary Kontorinis. Best of luck to Zachary and Karanpreet who will progress to the Regional Spelling Bee.  Special thanks to Ms. Valerie Filbry our Director of Literacy and English Language Arts and her team of teachers: Ms. Cavalli, Ms. B. Hayes, Ms. Kramer, Ms. Linzer, Ms. Syrett, Ms. Ebbets and Ms. Green who helped to organize the event.
