We enjoyed a wonderful evening celebrating Family Literacy Night at CBS! Families, students, and staff came together to share stories, explore books, and engage in meaningful literacy activities that brought our community even closer. The night was filled with joy, curiosity, and a shared love of reading. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the event such a warm and memorable success!

We had such a wonderful morning at our 2nd grade Thanksgiving celebration here at CCS. The students sounded absolutely beautiful singing their Thanksgiving songs, and they loved sharing what they’re thankful for and spending time with their special people. This month the character trait recognized at JFK was RESPONSIBILITY. Thank you to everyone who brought in items for the Student Council/Builders Club Food Drive and showed their responsibility towards their community. It was a close race between our grade level teams and here are the standings for our food drive competition. 1st place was the 8th grade Gold team, 2nd place was the 7th grade Gold team and 3rd place was the 7th grade Blue team! Our 8th grade Blue, and 6th grade teams still racked up points towards our yearlong Celebrating Character Competition so be on the lookout in December for our next competition to earn more points for your teams towards the end of the year prize! Students in AP English Literature worked through an Escape Room Challenge. Students used their comprehension and analysis of characterization, setting, symbolism, and quotations from the classic novel 1984 by George Orwell to work through six levels of the challenge. Groups demonstrated excellent collaboration and problem solving skills through this activity, facilitated by Ms. Bertolotti and Ms. LoPinto.
