CBS' fifth graders enjoyed making lasting memories at Battle of the Classes! Way to go Mrs. Seidita's Green Team!










Students in AP English Literature worked through an Escape Room Challenge. Students used their comprehension and analysis of characterization, setting, symbolism, and quotations from the classic novel 1984 by George Orwell to work through six levels of the challenge. Groups demonstrated excellent collaboration and problem solving skills through this activity, facilitated by Ms. Bertolotti and Ms. LoPinto.

I always enjoy hearing Mr. Verdi speak about his time in the U.S. Army. Thank you to courageous Americans like him who have served and defended our freedoms. Happy Veterans Day!

Dr. Wayne Gluf (BHS class of 1978) provided an informational and inspirational talk to our Careers in Medicine and Health and STEM students. While highlighting his journey after BHS, his vast work in Neurosurgery, and the critical role STEM now has in the medical field, Dr. Gluf stressed the importance of finding and following your passion after graduating BHS. A great Q&A session followed.








Our CBS students were so excited to treasure their reading during our school-wide DEAR time today for one of our PARP events. Happy reading, everyone!




Over the course of the week, Peter and the rest of the Grade 3 students in Central Boulevard, Charles Campagne, and Kramer Lane received brand new Google Chromebooks and Chargers. Students are excited to use them under the direction of their teachers!
Awesome day working alongside our BHS National Honor Society students at a Habitat for Humanity build in Suffolk County.


Kramer Lane’s Little Doctors were ready to assist at our annual blood drive on 10/29. Thank you to all who came out to participate. Your donations were greatly appreciated and needed!

Our second graders took the stage with a lively Reader’s Theatre performance! Students showcased their growing skills in fluency, self-monitoring, and expressive reading, all while bringing stories to life through the arts.

Kramer Lane is ready to cruise through Halloween. Happy Halloween everyone!



The BHS Library is bringing spooky season to life with a Halloween-themed independent reading unit for 9th and 10th grade students! Through curated book selections filled with mystery, suspense, and supernatural twists, students are encouraged to explore new genres while strengthening their reading stamina and comprehension.

October has been a fun and busy month at JFK! This week some of our National Junior Honor Society students visited Kramer Lane classes to deliver a lesson for Red Ribbon Week on the importance of making healthy decisions. Last week students promoted Breast Cancer awareness by wearing pink and our 8th grade Blue team visited the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium for an educational field trip.



Our 3rd graders and Kindergarteners experienced an amazing weather assembly hosted by meteorologist Samantha Augeri! They learned about storms, tornadoes through some fun science experiments! Thank you Sam for visiting CBS!
